Blessing What God Has Blessed

"Blessed is the one who blesses you, and cursed is the one who curses you." Numbers 24:9 (NIV)

Do you realize how powerful it is to bless what God has already blessed? In Genesis 30, we see a striking example with Jacob, a man later renamed Israel, the father of the twelve tribes that became the nation of Israel. Jacob worked for Laban, a Gentile businessman who raised cattle. And here’s the incredible part: Laban said, “God has blessed me because of you.” Because Jacob was faithful and God was with him, Laban’s entire business prospered.

Imagine that, God blessed a Gentile’s business just because he chose to bless Israel. You may have faced your own “Laban” moments, where you felt overlooked or even exploited, promised promotions or blessings that never seem to come. But God’s favor was on Jacob, and everything he touched multiplied. God can do the same for you when you stand with His people.

This truth doesn’t stop in the Old Testament. In Luke 7, a Roman centurion, a Gentile, had such faith in Jesus that he believed Jesus could heal his servant simply by speaking a word. Jesus honored that faith, showing that God’s blessings cross every boundary when we believe and bless what He has chosen.

You might wonder, “Why is this so important today?” Because the roots of our faith, the very foundation of Christianity, come from Judaism. Paul warns us in Romans 11 not to despise those roots.

You can’t have Christianity without Judaism. Jesus Himself said in John 4:22, “Salvation is from the Jews.” To reject or curse Israel is to misunderstand the source of your faith.

When you bless Israel, when you honor God’s chosen people, God promises to bless you. History proves it: nations that stood with Israel prospered, while those who opposed her faced judgment. And this isn’t about politics, it’s spiritual obedience.

Remember, Jesus will return not to Washington, DC, or London, but to Jerusalem. The story of Joseph in the Old Testament foreshadows Jesus’ own life: both rejected by brothers, both left for dead, and both raised to positions of honor. God’s plan is perfect and unchanging.

So today, choose to bless what God has blessed. Stand with Israel, and watch God bless you in return.
